Overview of the courses
As an important part of project "E-commerce for traditional products - women 50 +" held under the "Lifelong Learning" transfer of innovation, Leonardo da Vinci program, Contract 2009-1-GR1-LEO 05-01858 with target group Women 50 + Municipal Administration - Simitli training courses were held on "Basic computer literacy" and "Sectors of economic activity, marketing and advertising." Willing of attendance was declared by 25 women. From them 14 women over 50 years were selected to produce and manufacture traditional products typical for the region. The trainers chosen for the group were unemployed people registered in local labor offices, which have graduated higher education and have shown the necessary knowledge and experience for leading the trainings.
The "Home computer literacy" course started on 28.03.2011 with frequency of the meetings every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The duration of a lesson took about 3 hours per day. Due to a request raised by the group classes spread to weekends as to better fit participants’ schedules. As some of the women were working in the public sector they had prior basic computer knowledge. Thus more interesting for them was the course on "Sectors of economic activity, marketing and advertising" which began on 16.05.2011. In this course the target group became familiar with the different ways of promoting products manufactured by themselves and the opportunities for selling via internet auctions.
With the participation in these two courses the women over 50 years received not only basic computer skills that will be very useful for them in the future, but also became familiar with the principles of electronic commerce and the opportunities they offer.
